CAN’T GET ASSISTANCE?
If you can’t get a response through regular channels or because 911 is down, you can also try contacting your nearest fire station or flagging down a patrol car. Just ask them to radio your report in to Emergency Operations. If you see an animal in immediate distress and you have no other humane option but to remove him or her, please take a photo of the animal and the location where he or she was found and/or GPS pin drop the location to aid with post storm reunions.
FOOD, SUPPLIES AND SPECIAL NEEDS
The Humane Society of Louisiana is setting up staging areas and supply distribution centers and may be able to help individual pet owners or rescuers with emergencies. Contact us in special circumstances if you are unable to get help through parish channels.
