We’re relieved and grateful to report that while there are still hundreds of thousands of people without power and widespread damage around Louisiana, our animal care facilities escaped major hurricane damage. Our Enoch J. Donaldson Animal Sanctuary in Washington Parish is still without power, but we were fully prepared to weather the storm.
Our hearts go out to all who were less lucky and who are now struggling. As with all major weather events, Hurricane Francine will no doubt continue to present financial hardships and home displacements which will impact many local residents and their animal companions.
As part of our ongoing response, we’re announcing our first FRANCINE DISASTER RELIEF PET FOOD AND SUPPLY DRIVE. It will be held this Saturday, September 14th at our Gretna headquarters, 618 Derbigny, 70053, from 10:30 am – 1pm. We’ll keep doing our best to provide relief to those in need, and we are hopeful that all our friends, supporters and animal rescue colleagues are all OK.
